Warm up with Winter Shiraz Weekend at Basils Farm
Swan Bay’s Basils Farm is gearing up to host the “Winter Shiraz Weekend” next month, giving wine enthusiasts the chance to enjoy a glass of shiraz or warm mulled wine around the Basils firepit.
Now in its fourth year, the Geelong Wine Associations event will showcase the region’s stunning wineries while celebrating the iconic flavour of Shiraz.
Locked in for Saturday July 6 and Sunday July 7, wine lovers are encouraged to rug up in their winter wools in search of a showstopping red wine.
The most recent release from Basils Farm, 2019 Basils Farm Shiraz, is a minimal intervention wine, exuding tasty red and black fruit flavours as well as a spicy zest.
Basils Farm vineyard manager Shane Smith said the vintage wine is shaping up to be one of the winery’s finest.
The popular Basils café will be in fullswing, with house-made delights and wine tastings at the Cellar Door on offer for all guests.
The full range of Basils Farm wines will be available for tasting at the Cellar Door from 11am-5pm.
Shiraz weekend exclusives include:
• Limited edition Basils Farm Shiraz packs featuring back vintages
• One lucky visitor will take home a Basils Farm Shiraz pack
• Receive an additional bottle of wine with any purchase of a dozen
• Exclusive shiraz wine tastings, including current and limited availability back vintages
Basils will be serving brunch from 10am-12pm as well as booked lunches. The Basils chefs have also created a selection of shiraz inspired dishes in honour of the festivities.
