Prettys Place Bar & Grill stands as more than just a café – it's a community sanctuary where genuine connections flourish alongside exceptional coffee and cuisine.

IN the heart of Ocean Grove’s Kingston Village Square Shopping Centre, Prettys Place Bar & Grill stands as more than just a café – it’s a community sanctuary where genuine connections flourish alongside exceptional coffee and cuisine.

When Colin Pretty established Prettys Place, his vision was clear: create a welcoming space where locals and visitors alike could experience the simple joy of quality food and beverages in an atmosphere that feels like home. Today, that vision is realised in every aspect of this thriving local establishment.

“We designed our café with everyday experiences in mind,” explains Colin. “We wanted to create a place where people can take a pause from their busy lives and truly connect – with family, friends, or even new acquaintances they meet here.”

Beyond the beans

While the café has quickly become renowned for its exceptional coffee – sourced from ethical suppliers and prepared by skilled baristas – Prettys Place offers so much more.

The menu features thoughtfully prepared breakfast and lunch options that showcase local ingredients whenever possible.Friday evenings at Prettys Place have become something of a local tradition, with the café extending its hours until 9pm for dinner service.

These special evenings have quickly become a highlight for many Ocean Grove residents, offering a relaxed dining experience perfect for families and friends looking to wind down after the work week.

As the only night Prettys Place opens for dinner, Fridays have transformed into a must-book occasion where patrons enjoy the café’s evening menu in the same welcoming atmosphere they love during the day.

Community at the core

What truly sets Prettys Place apart is its dedication to fostering community. Regular patrons often comment on the café’s unique ability to feel simultaneously vibrant and peaceful – a place where conversation flows naturally and where many Ocean Grove residents now conduct informal business meetings or celebrate special occasions.

“Our customers are our extended family,” Colin shares. “We’ve watched friendships form between people who first met at adjacent tables. That’s the kind of place we wanted to create – somewhere that contributes positively to the social fabric of Ocean Grove.”

Looking forward

As Prettys Place approaches its next chapter, Colin and his team remain committed to their founding principles: exceptional quality, genuine hospitality, and strengthening community bonds in their beloved seaside town.

Whether you’re seeking your morning coffee ritual, a relaxed business meeting spot, or a place to gather with loved ones, Prettys Place Bar & Grill awaits with open doors and freshly brewed coffee from 7.30am daily.
