Where pets and people matter

Cherished Pets believe that when pets thrive, people do too. That’s why its team cares not only for animals, but also for the people who love them.
NESTLED in the heart of old Ocean Grove, Cherished Pets is more than a veterinary clinic — it’s a locally owned community hub where pets and people are truly cared for.
Founded in 2015 by Dr Alicia (Lissi) Kennedy, Cherished Pets was born from a purpose: to ensure the benefits of healthy companion animals and a thriving human-animal bond are accessible to all, especially those doing it tough.
Its team is passionate about what they do — they love pets, and deeply value the impact they have on human wellbeing. Cherished Pets believe that when pets thrive, people do too. That’s why its team cares not only for animals, but also for the people who love them.
Over the past decade, Cherished Pets has grown into a trusted presence in the region. Its clinic offers a full range of general veterinary services including wellness care, vaccinations, day surgery, dentistry, and behavioural support. Its warm, welcoming space reflects the community spirit the team aims to nurture. Cherished Pets is especially skilled at supporting pets who are fearful of vet visits — its kind, gentle approach makes all the difference.
Cherished Pets is widely known for its end of life care — a deeply meaningful offering that supports pets and their families through the final stages of life, whether due to age or terminal illness. The organisation provides quality of life assessments, palliative care, compassionate euthanasia, aftercare, and bereavement support — delivered in-clinic or in the comfort of home.
“We need an organisation like Cherished Pets in our community,” a recent client said.
“Thank you for your amazing assistance on Sunday. You made this moment a beautiful experience and special to us all.”
Cherished Pets is also proud of its registered charity partner, Cherished Pets Foundation, which supports pets of people experiencing vulnerability. With the help of a wonderful network of volunteers, community vet nurses and veterinary social workers, the charity provides home care assistance and crisis care — ensuring no pet is left behind.
