Women in Business: Fun runs in the family – Adventure Park

Nearly 22 years in business has seen Adventure Park become one of Victoria’s leading family attractions.

Under the leadership of sisters Leanne, Carla and Bree Salmon, the Park has also become a living, breathing example of a modern family friendly workplace as they, like many other women in business, juggle motherhood and running a company.

With five children under the age of five between them, the sisters have carved out their own child friendly workplace culture.

You can often find their children and the children of other staff in the Park or around the office.

“We’ve definitely created the best kind of product to include our children,” Leanne, whose daughter is now 10 months old, said.

“Of course there are times when we need to focus on projects and we’re grateful to have our partners and the support of parents, in-laws and child care to help, but sometimes there’s no other option for parents and we get that.”

While new rides like the Tornado are certainly crowd pleasers, it’s extras such as the ability to BYO picnics and the Ride Buddies parent support program that can make a visit to Adventure Park so much easier on parents.
