The 2022 School Captains at Saint Aloysius Primary School are in the process of both celebrating their final term of grade 6 but also looking forward to a successful transition to some of Geelong’s best Catholic secondary colleges.

Lavinia Farrell, School Co-Captain for 2022, is lucky to have her older sister Zara already at Saint Ignatius College in Drysdale.

Zara, who was also a former School Captain at Saint Aloysius, believes the grounding she got both in her leadership skills and academic achievement meant that her entry into Saint Ignatius opened many doors for more great opportunities.

Lavinia is now in a great position to be able to draw on the wisdom of her older sister as she also looks forward to starting at Saint Ignatius.

Clara Van Hamond is in a similarly advantageous position. She has been a Vice School Co-Captain this year and looks forward to also joining her older sister Georgia at Saint Ignatius next year, also a former School Captain.

Georgia has drawn on her leadership experience from St Aloysius in her role as Ignation Leader for her class this year.

Audrey Howard, School Vice Co-Captain, says that having a small school environment and targeted teaching with fabulous opportunities for leadership has meant she has really grown throughout her years at Saint Aloysius Primary School.

Being a Vice School Captain this year has opened up many opportunities for her to demonstrate her great leadership skills in planning social justice projects, assisting in official ceremonies and being a role model to her peers.

Neo Ussawathawornchai, School Co-Captain has gained many skills as a Saint Aloysius student.

Her older brothers Leo and Henry Howard are giving her lots of tips about entering year seven.

Their transition to Saint Joseph’s College in Geelong has seen them engage in many more learning opportunities and grow the skills they developed while at Saint Aloysius.

Neo Ussawathawornchai, School Co-Captain, is looking forward to being the first person in his family to attend Saint Ignatius next year.

Clara Van Hamond is in an advantageous position thanks to the skills and opportunities she gained at Saint Aloysius Primary School, which will help her move onto her secondary education.

As School Co-Captain this year, Neo has demonstrated a caring and compassionate attitude towards all of his teachers and fellow students and looks forward to all the opportunities he knows he will benefit from as he moves into the next phase of his Catholic education.
