2023 Geelong Business Excellence Awards launched
THE search for Geelong’s best and brighest businesses has begun again, with entries officially opening to this year’s LBW Business + Wealth Advisors Geelong Business Excellence Awards (GBEA).
Run each year since 1986 by the Geelong Chamber of Commerce, the awards are the oldest continuously running business awards programs in Australia, and recognise and celebrate business achievement and performance.
The 2023 edition of the awards was launched with an event in the Furphy Hall at Little Creatures Geelong last week.
Speaking at the launch, Geelong Chamber of Commerce president Jeremy Crawford said the awards had been well supported by businesses for a long time and were an envied event not just locally but regionally.
“I was meeting with the Victorian Chamber and the Melbourne Chamber just recently, and they had some great respect for the awards in our region, and I think that’s a great testament to the business community.”
The awards’ chief judge for this year, Simon Flowers from LBW Business + Wealth Advisors said the GBEA in 2023 had slightly adjusted questions in some categories but were largely the same as previous years.
He said winners from previous years should definitely re-enter.
“They know how beneficial it is to enter and go through the process… the other thing is that you’ve done all the hard work in the first year, so why wouldn’t you back it up?”
The event also saw GBEA Hall of Fame awards presented to Crew Faced Make Up Artistry and Adventure Park Geelong.
