Stage one of the highly anticipated Armstrong Creek Town Centre will open next month, with Coles and Liquorland, cafes and gyms opening to the public.

The first stage of one of the largest developments within the region is on track to open next month offering residents and visitors a new place to shop, dine and experience.
Lifestyle and business playground Armstrong Creek Town Centre will come to life as Welsh Group developers open stage one of the highly anticipated and vibrant precinct.
A gateway to the Surfcoast, a community hub for neighbouring housing estates Armstrong, Warralilly and Anchoridge and the greater surrounds including Geelong and Torquay, Armstrong Creek town Centre will feature the best in retail, entertainment, a hotel and wellness facilities as well as commercial and residential areas.
Armstrong Creek Town Centre’s anchor tenants Coles and Liquorland will open on July 29, as well as Anytime Fitness, Terry White Chemmart, Beauty Genesis, Coral Massage, Common Lane Café and Dumpling and Sushi Hub. The centre masterplan highlights more cafes, retailers, and a cinema to open at a later date.
The town centre, which spans more than 40 hectares and is a $1 billion-dollar developmental boom for the region, will be a convenient, sustainable and easily accessible precinct for community members to attend a medical centre, pharmacy, visit a library and enjoy an indoor swimming centre.
Stage one will create more than 400 ongoing jobs for the region, with up to 5000 employment opportunities upon the completion of the project, with more than 100,000 people expected to call the residential area home.
Welsh Group managing director Andrew Welsh said Armstrong Creek Town Centre would create a thriving community hub, in a space which architects designed to reflect the region’s coastal areas.
“A focal point of the design was for residents who lived in surrounding areas to meet new people, make new friends and get their kids to make new friends as well, while offering job and residential opportunities through quality developments,” he said.
“Community members can look to this location to meet their neighbours and build their community through the town centre.”
Mr Welsh said despite facing challenges to open the centre due to COVID-19, Welsh Group made the commitment to work within government guidelines and open stage one as planned maintaining contractors and trades and providing community members with needed retailers.
Mr Welsh noted the pandemic had impacted tenants and that Welsh Group had committed to working with national and local retailers affected by COVID-19 to allow future tenancy opportunities.
