A doggy day care proposed for Drysdale
DRYSDALE could soon be home to a new doggy day care.
The City of Greater Geelong has received a planning application for the service which is proposed for 9/34 Murradoc Road, Drysdale.
According to a planning report compiled by The Planning Professionals, the applicants are experienced and avid dog and pet handlers that have been operating a small scale informal dog day care from home for a number of years.
“This simply represents a formalisation and expansion of existing business operations,” the report states.
The proposal is for the keeping of 20 dogs at capacity – no dogs would be kept on the premises overnight.
“Staffing would be provided at a rate of 1 person per 10 dogs.
“To a maximum of two staff a day.
“In accordance with the “Code of Practice for the Operation of Boarding Establishments” a veterinarian would be on call during the operating hours of the facility.”
The hours of operation would be within the following general framework: Monday to Friday 6.00am – 6.00pm Saturday-Sunday 9.00am – 4.00pm.
Weekend day care would be made available when there is the demand and upon request.
