Rick Knowles is holding his first photographic exhibition at the Grovedale Neighbourhood House, with examples of his work pictured here.

LOCAL photographer Rick Knowles is holding his first photographic exhibition at the Grovedale Neighbourhood House.

The exhibition is on now until November 30 and features images from the Geelong, Bellarine, and Surf Coast regions from his 2019 coastal calendar.

Although Rick has been a resident of Grovedale for only the past seven years, he has spent many summers visiting the Geelong and Surf Coast region, and lived in Geelong when he was a child.

“I love living near the coast, it’s a great place to get away from the pressures of life and just relax,” he said.

Rick has always been a keen photographer, spending many hours in his darkroom developing photos before the advent of digital photography.

“The emergence of digital photography and digital cameras has given everyone the ability to produce a great photo, but you still have to put in the time and effort to go out and capture the image.”

The exhibition is at the Grovedale Neighbourhood House, 45 Heyers Road, Grovedale and is open Mondays 9am to 12pm, and Tuesdays to Thursdays 9am to 3pm. Entry is free.
