A record-breaking giving day for Cottage
A QUEENSCLIFF children’s charity has raised a record-breaking $315,000 at its annual Giving Day.
More than 275 supporters put their pennies towards assisting Cottage by the Sea last Tuesday.
All donations were doubled by matching donors including the APCO Foundation, Bulls & Bears Golf Group, Ducas-Paul Foundation, Geelong Connected Communities, Millbrook Asset Management, Millbrook Funds and Shine On Foundation, in addition to anonymous philanthropic foundations.
All funds raised will go towards giving more children inspiring and fun opportunities at the Cottage.
Cottage by the Sea chief executive officer Adam Wake thanked everyone for their amazing contributions.
“Our record-breaking result is a testament to our community’s support. As a non-government funded children’s charity in its 135th year of operation, every dollar truly counts.
“All the funds raised on Giving Day will go directly to our programs – offering young people the opportunity to create memories for life.
“Camping in the wilderness, learning how to surf, catching a fish, swimming with dolphins – these experiences do leave a lasting impact.”
