ADVENTURE Park Geelong came alive with colour on Sunday night as the theme park launched its Christmas Festival of Lights.

Hundreds of illuminative displays and 1.2 million shimmering lights have taken over the Bellarine attraction, with many families turning out to witness the dazzling Christmas wonderland at the weekend.

Grace Hudson, Eva Cooper, Indi Fox and Olie Hudson headed for the North Pole.

Children and their parents alike can expect to see a 12-metre high Christmas tree, race cars, dinosaurs, floating aquatic displays and exotic animals on select nights between now and Christmas Eve.

The festival will run from tonight (Thursday, December 5) to Sunday December 8 (6-10pm), and again from December 12 to December 24
(6-10pm).

All aboard: Geelong siblings Claire and Liam Dobuey tried out the rides.

Adventure Park is located at 1249 Bellarine Highway, Wallington.
