THOUSANDS of people flocked to Portarlington last weekend for the annual Bellarine Show.

The 33rd annual agricultural extravaganza featured more than 25 activations and workshops which focused on the theme of wool.

The show provided an opportunity for city-based individuals to experience “all things wonderful about country life, in a not-so-country landscape.”

Attractions included a woodchop display, working dogs in action, the gumboot toss, guess the weight, tractor/trailer rides and the highly contested dog jump.

The event committee stated the event went down as a major success.

“We’d like to thank everyone who came together to ensure the 2025 Show was a success.

A selection of pumpkins were available for sale.

“From its sponsors and advertisers, volunteers, competitors and the public who attended on Sunday; a heartfelt thanks to you all.”

The committee paid tribute to long-standing supporter Laura Cockerell, who is stepping away from assisting with the show.

Laura and her husband Geoff were the original sponsors of the Bellarine Show when it started in 1989 in Drysdale.

The woodchop display was action-packed.

“Laura exemplifies the true meaning of community spirit, and the Bellarine Agricultural Society will be forever grateful for her commitment to it and the role she has played over the years,” the committee added.
