THE Geelong branch of the Air Force Association (AFA) has been reformed and is now seeking new members.

The branch was reactivated a couple of months ago and has already been making a difference, providing members and veterans with fellowship and support.

Branch president John Delia said the AFA helps guide other members in need to get support and ensure that those involved are looked out for.

“For people who go through hard times or need that support, the Air Force Association is also there to be able to help them.

“We have the resources and abilities to help people out in different ways.”

Membership is open to serving and former members of the Australian Defence Force or Allied Armed Services, including Air Force Cadets and the Air Training Corps.

Membership is not exclusive to Geelong residents, as the branch accepts people from all over the G21 region, including the Surf Coast, Queenscliff and Lara.

The aim of the AFA feel the more members they have, the more able they are to provide the various types of support people need.

Last week, the branch held their first meeting after their reformation on August 8 this year. They did so after finding there was strong support for in the community for the branch starting back up.

If you’re interested in becoming a member, phone AFA’s Victoria head office on 9813 4600 or contact the Geelong Branch directly by emailing geelong. [email protected].
