AirAsia joins Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine

THE World’s Best Low Cost Carrier for nine consecutive years, AirAsia, has signed on as Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine’s 600th member.

The regional tourism organisation continues to grow industry membership and support on the back of record high visitor numbers from both domestic and international markets.

“The AirAsia partnership with Avalon Airport is a genuine game changer for our region,” Tourism Greater Geelong
and The Bellarine Executive Director Roger Grant said.

“To have direct flights from Kuala Lumpur twice daily is a long-held dream for our industry.

“I couldn’t think of a more appropriate 600th industry partner than AirAsia, and we very much look forward to a long and prosperous relationship.”

Tourism contributes $921 million to the Geelong and The Bellarine region, sustaining more than 5,300 jobs.

The potential for international flights at Avalon Airport has been identified as a key opportunity in tourism and economic development strategies for over 15 years.
