Aireys market a marvellous success

November 16, 2017 BY

The Aireys Inlet Market thrived at its first event for the season earlier this month, with hundreds attending the community market.

New owners Libby and Mic Stapleton said stalls were adhering to the new home-grown, handmade, recycled, vintage or local bio regulations for products sold at the market.

The first market was fully booked with stallholders across the regions eager to display and sell their wares. From olive oil and fresh produce, to baby bibs and bread, all tastes were covered.

Ms Stapleton said the market supports tourism throughout the region by providing spin-off benefits for local businesses as well as providing an outlet for local artists and food producers to promote and sell their goods and produce.

“It is a vibrant and popular attraction in our town, as demonstrated by the fact that 94 of 103 submissions received by council were in favour of the market continuing,” she said.

The Aireys Inlet Market runs from 9am to 1pm at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall, with 13 more markets planned this season, running from October 2017 until June 2018. The next market will be held on November 4.
