Airshow tickets sell out for Saturday
FOR the first time in its 30-year history, tickets to the Saturday session of the Australian International Airshow have sold out.
In addition, Gold Pass tickets, which give ticket holders access to seated grandstands and exclusive dining areas at Avalon Airport, are sold out for all three days of the event.
General Admission tickets still remain for Avalon 2023 for tomorrow (Friday, March 3), which includes the spectacular Friday Night Alight display, and on Sunday, March 5.
Justin Giddings, chief executive officer of Avalon 2023 organiser AMDA Foundation Limited said tickets selling out illustrates the public’s enthusiasm for the return of the airshow after four years.
“We are so excited to welcome back airshow fans from tomorrow and though Saturday is now sold out for the first time, Friday and Sunday tickets are still available, but get in quick!
“There are so many fantastic things happening at the airshow this year: free general admission for children 15 years and under, and we have the Republic of Korea Air Force Black Eagles display team flying in Australia for the first time. The airshow is the place to be this weekend.”
At last week’s media preview, Mr Giddings announced the opening time of Avalon 2023 tomorrow was to be brought forward from 2pm to 11:30am.
He said the change was thanks to the incredible level of interest in the Black Eagles and pent-up demand for the Airshow event.
We’re bringing the official opening of the event forward two hours in response to ticket holders who are telling us they just can’t wait any longer for the show to start.”
Airshow is staged by AMDA Foundation Limited, an Australian not-for-profit corporation established to promote the development of aviation and Australia’s industrial, manufacturing and information/communications technology resources in the fields of aviation, aerospace, maritime, defence and security.
Avalon 2023 opens to the public from tomorrow and runs until Sunday, March 5 at Avalon Airport.
Tickets for Airshow 2023 are available at Ticketmaster.
For the first time in the event’s history, entry is free for children aged 15 and under . A child admission ticket is required to gain entry, and can be acquired via Ticketmaster.
