Arabian nights in Queenscliff with Aladdin
HEAD on a hilarious magic carpet ride with Aladdin flying in to Queenscliff this summer, running January 13 to 19, there’s still time to catch the show at Queenscliff Uniting Church Hall.
Watch as the stage lights up with lively, colourful characters such as a beautiful princess, a bumbling cop duo, a giant green genie, a small genie-with-a-big-attitude, an ancient sorceress and an oh-so-cheeky panda audiences will love.
Boys and girls of all ages will be entertained by this hilarious show, directed by Debbie Fraser for the Queenscliff Lighthouse Theatre Group.
In true pantomime tradition the lead Dame, Widow Twankey, is played by a male, the local acting identity, Ian Rooney and the principal boy, Aladdin, is played by a female, talented newcomer Millana Anello.
In the role of the evil, dark stranger Abanazzer, is another local favourite, Matthew King.
The audience is encouraged to ‘boo’ and ‘hiss’ as he attempts to rub the lamp, summon the genie and outsmart Aladdin with his dastardly deeds.
The talented cast of local performers sing hit songs, dance up a storm and interact with the audience to bring this magical tale of mayhem and mischief to life.
There are four days left with performances at 10.30am and 1.30pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday (January 16, 17, 18 respectively) with an extra evening show Friday at 7.30pm and one show on Sunday, January 19 at 1.30pm.
Group bookings are also available for school holiday programs, bookings are through trybooking.com.au or the Queenscliff Information Centre.
