AFTER a five-year hiatus Geelong’s All Holden Day Show ‘n’ Shine Car Show is returning tomrrow (Saturday, October 25) for the 16th installment of the event.

While COVID lockdowns put a stop to the event’s momentum, the Geelong FX-HZ Holden Car Club is proud to be reinstating the day at Geelong Baptist College.

Club treasurer Nicole Coverdale said it was a thrill to be able to bring the day back.

“It’s something we’ve been wanting to do for years now, but this year we were successfully able to achieve that, so we’re excited for the day and to see everyone from Geelong plus interstate.

“It will be amazing to see the number of cars that our show will attract on the day… We are looking forward to a great turnout.

“We’re really excited as to what the day will bring and the number of enthusiasts that we’ve heard that are so looking forward to this day coming back.”

Sponsored by Shannon’s Insurance and Meguiar’s Australia, the show will attract Holden enthusiasts from around the country, who will bring their own pride and joy to put on display.

In the event’s long history as the only all Holden day in Geelong, it has welcomed between 400 and 900 vehicles each year, with thousands of car enthusiasts also stopping by.

This year’s event will raise money for local organisation, The Outpost, which works to provide vital food relief, connection and community to those doing it tough in Geelong.

Ms Coverdale said the club picks a charity each year to donate a percentage of the takings from the day.

“This year we’ve chosen The Outpost in Geelong, which is a really worthy charity and we’re very proud that we can support them for the services that they provide to the Geelong community.”
