THE annual Grapest run will return to the award winning Leura Park Estate in Curlewis on April 20.

Participants will have the choice of running 5km or 10km before cooling down with the 1km wine waddle through the vineyards.

For those who aren’t as keen on running, they can head straight for the wine waddle.

Senior team member at Leura Park Estate Emily Lyons said Grapest is a really unique event where participants navigate dams and vines all around the winery.

“This is a setting that a lot of people haven’t had the chance to run before,” she said.

“Being able to actually run through vines around a vineyard is a pretty unique experience for a lot of people.

“It’s not just a fun run, it’s a fun run for something that you really can’t get anywhere else.”

The event hopes to attract around 200 competitors with the runners doing a loop around the Estate and surrounding property in an off-road course.

The wine waddle will include tastings from three stands as well as samples from one of the first cideries in the Bellarine.

“It’s really just designed as a unique day out; people get to experience the vineyard and enjoy some of the award-winning wines and ciders,” Ms Lyons said.

“Whether you’re a fitness addict or fun run addict or looking for something fun to do with friends, you get to try some amazing wines and ciders from the region and it’s an event that has something for everyone,” she said.

Test Pilot Molly will take the stage as the event comes to a close.”Everyone can finish the day with a dance, have a listen to live music, enjoy some Leura Park Estate wines and have something to eat as well,” Ms Lyons said.

A range of tickets are available for those who choose to participate in the scenic wine runs or just the wine waddle, there is also a band only option for the live entertainment.
