MORE than 270 artworks will adjourn the walls of Christian College Geelong’s Drysdale campus this Easter long weekend.

The Bellarine North Rotary Easter Art Expo returns for its 46th edition tomorrow (Saturday, April 19) and is set to feature pieces from up and coming and established artists from across the Bellarine Peninsula.

Attendees are invited to join the festivities and explore a broad range of artworks including printmaking, oils, acrylics and watercolours.

Bellarine North Rotary president Ken Withers said they were looking forward to bringing everyone together for the event.

“It’s a great initiative and helps us raise significant amounts for the local community,” Bellarine North Rotary president Ken Withers said.

This year marks the 46th edition of the Bellarine North Rotary Club running the art exhibition fundraiser.

“It’s hundreds of hours of volunteer work, but we love giving artists the opportunity to show off and sell their work. It also gives the community something different to come and see.”

All of the artist entry fees and 25 per cent of each sale will go towards supporting Rotary projects locally and abroad.

“Our club is always interested in what we can do to make our part of the Bellarine run that little bit smoother,” he added.

“We put about $40,000 a year back into the local community. It can be hoses and nozzles for the fire brigade, wet vacuums for the emergency services, Feed Me Bellarine, or others around the place locally. We consider them all as to what we can afford to do.

The Bellarine North Rotary Easter Art Expo will raise funds to support rotary projects near and far.

“We are definitely looking forward to it this year. It pulls our club together. It’s one of the only events for the year that all our members get involved in. We just have fun.”

Best in show will be awarded $2,000, while runner up will receive $1,000.

Judging will be completed by Queenscliff Gallery directors Soula and Theo Mantalvanos.

The Bellarine Camera Club and the Festival of Glass will also be exhibiting their own works as part of the expo.

Entry for adults is $10 and families for $18.
