Applications will close next week for artists and gallerists wanting to showcase their works in this year’s Bellarine Arts Trail.

The long-running free community event will be held on November 1 and November 2, and take place at more than 40 studio and exhibition spaces across Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff.

The Arts Trail is open to artists of all skill levels and mediums, including photographers, painters, sculptors, ceramists, jewellers, mixed media, glass and textile artists.

Event coordinator Louise Kennedy from the Barwon Heads Arts Council said excitement was high for this year’s bumper event.

“Preparations are going well. We usually get most registrations in the second and third weeks, but we’ve had a nice trickle start.

“It’s mostly all new people who we have seen register which is great to see. Hopefully all our regulars join them in the next week. We’ve been chatting to them and they all still seem keen.

“There’s a great mix of artists out there… it’s pretty exciting to see what people are up to.”
