Arts Trail artists wanted on the Bellarine
BELLARINE Arts Trail organisers are encouraging artists and gallerists to showcase their creativity in this year’s event.
The Bellarine Arts Trail features studios and venues across Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff, and arts trial co-ordinator Karen Shirley and her team are accepting applications for this year’s November 4 to 5 festival.
“The Arts Trail is the flagship event presented by the volunteers at the Barwon Heads Arts Council and attracts thousands of visitors to the Bellarine each year,” Ms Shirley said.
The Bellarine Arts Trail is open to artists of all skill levels and genres and includes a display of a range of art styles; painters, sculptors, ceramists, photographers, jewellers, mixed media, glass and textile artists.
Artists are also encouraged to participate by joining in at “group venues”, venues that can be self-organised by individual groups or by organisers.
“Typically, artists open their studios to the public over the two-day event, which enables visitors to see where the artists’ work, and for artists to show and sell their work,” Ms Shirley added.
“However, many artists don’t have the option of opening their own studio, so group venues in any of the four participating towns are encouraged.
The Bellarine Arts Trail is encouraging artists to register as early as possible to avoid missing out.
