events on the Bellarine this Saturday, January 26.
Australia Day Portarlington Celebrate Australia Day with an address from Ambassador Father Bob Maguire and a councillor
from the Bellarine Ward at the Portarlington Senior Citizens Club before heading to the community fair at 12.15pm until 4.30pm.
The carnival will be held on the ground extending from the Portarlington Rotunda and Senior Citizens Club to The Esplanade.
Featuring bush poetry, children’s activities, a dog fashion parade, Lions Club sausage sizzle, music
and more, the day is set to be a crowd pleaser.
Queenscliff Town Hall Come along and enjoy council’s Australia Day festivities at the Queenscliff Town Hall.
With an official flag-raising ceremony and an address from the Borough of Queenscliffe mayor as well as Cr
Bob Merriman, the event’s schedule is jam-packed with community spirit.
The celebration will run from 11am until 1pm, with winners of the Borough of Queenscliffe Australia Day Awards for Citizen of the Year, Community Event of the Year and Community Organisation of the Year to be announced.
Australia Day at the Clifton Springs Golf Club The Clifton Springs Golf Club will be hosting live music, a thong toss, backyard cricket and a communal barbecue this Saturday, January 26. To book your spot, phone 5251 3391.
Kids Kite Construction and Flying Day on the Beach at Ocean Grove Lions Club of Ocean Grove Barwon Heads will
celebrate Australia 2019 by hosting a free kids’ kite construction and flying day on the beach at Ocean Grove.
Providing all the necessary materials, members of the Lions Club will show kids how to make and fly their own kites in the Ocean Grove sky.
An annual project, 200 kites are made each year. First in, best dressed.
