Awards showcase business’ achievements
FOLLOWING on from winning the 2022 Geelong Business Excellence Awards (GBEA) Emerging Business of the Year, sponsored by The Gordon, beef processing business Provenir continues to go from strength to strength.
Co-founder and chief executive officer of Provenir, Chris Balazs said being part of the “highly regarded” GBEA had already produced a range of benefits to the organisation.
“The awards are super professional and are incredibly respected within the Geelong community.
“There were a whole lot of benefits from our business going through the full process and it really helped to drive a lot of pride for our staff.
“Having the judges come out to your business is something we found was a really good team building event.
“From the written component to the site visit, we treated it as our annual health check and a chance to sit down and see what we’ve achieved in the last twelve months.
“The process itself is advantageous irrespective of winning an award or not.”
Founded in 2017, Provenir’s mission is to create Australia’s best beef and the business is doing so by keeping their livestock’s welfare to the highest standard.
Provenir operate an innovative mobile abbatoir and in the past twelve months have grown their business further by delving into online meat sales, pet food and making wellness products to make sure every part of their livestock is used.
The business is also now operating the Avalon Airport café.
Mr Balazs said the GBEA process would be incredibly “fun” and “rewarding” for any local business wanting to take their business to the next level.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for businesses to push out to the community the great work they are doing in their industry.
“It’s a way business can show off their skillset in a unique way.
“The awards dinner itself is also a terrific networking opportunity and a way of interacting with all the other fantastic businesses who have put their best foot forward.
“It’s very nice to see so many other businesses doing well.”
Mr Balazs said Provenir will once again be throwing their hats in the ring and are hopeful of taking out the top crown.
“We always shoot for the stars and are incredibly proud of what we do at Provenir.
“It’s a positive process for all of us to see the value of the great things we are doing.
“We have grown significantly this year and improved many facets of our business and hope we can win the whole thing!”
