Barwon Heads community raises an amazing $36,000 for appeal
BARWON Grove Golf Club (aka The Tin Shed) and the Barwon Heads community raised an “amazing” $36,170.30 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Visitors who attended the club’s annual Good Friday Fundraiser generously participated in traditional and silent auctions, Easter egg and money tree raffles, a wine pull, as well as making a donation as they entered the door.
Children were entertained by face painting, balloon twisting and a jumping castle.
President Brendan Curry said the amount of dedicated work by the club’s committee members and volunteers to raise the fantastic amount was truly inspiring, and he thanked the hundreds of people who attended.
“My thanks to all the individuals and local businesses who donated items to auction, especially coming off the back of a terrible year during COVID-19 restrictions,” Mr Curry said.
“The Tin Shed is a very proud local institution in the Barwon Heads community and since 1961 has been promoting goodwill and has always been focused on supporting others in need.”
