The second Bridge to Bridge fundraiser hosted by the Barwon Heads Cycling Association will see a group of 20 riders travel from Adelaide to Barwon Heads.

THE Barwon Heads Cycling Association is hosting a launch event on Friday May 10 to celebrate the announcement of its second Bridge to Bridge fundraiser ride this September.

A team of 20 riders will be journeying from Adelaide to Barwon Heads to raise money for Give Where You Live and the Andrew Love Cancer Centre, with funds accumulated to be distributed evenly.

In 2016, nine riders travelled Sydney to Barwon Heads to raise money for Give Where You Live and raised more than $20,000.

The route for the September ride will see participants ride distances of up to 175km from Adelaide to Coonalpyn (175km), Coonalpyn to Naracoorte (175km), Naracoorte to Hamilton (170km), Hamilton to Colac (169km) and Colac to Lorne to Barwon Heads (123km).

The launch will be hosted at the Barwon Heads Hotel from 6.30-8.45pm.

Local radio celebrity Ian Cover will MC the event, which will feature guest speakers Purdie Long (endurance cyclist) and Shane Kelly (Australian champion cyclist).

Tickets are $30 per person and includes finger food. All profits will go towards Give Where You Live and the Andrew Love Cancer Centre.
