Barwon Regional Assembly to be held in Wallington

April 11, 2018 BY

The Regional Assemblies are the cornerstone of the Regional Partnerships initiative.

THE 2018 Barwon Regional Assembly will be held at Wallington/Ocean Grove on Thursday, May 31, while the 2018 Great South Coast Regional Assembly will be held in Hamilton on Wednesday June 13.

The dates of Victoria’s 2018 Regional Assemblies were announced recently with the Barwon Assembly confirmed as the third to be held this year.

The Regional Assemblies are the cornerstone of the Regional Partnerships initiative, which was established to ensure regional communities have a greater say about what matters to them.

From transport and education, to tourism and economic opportunities, the Regional Partnerships provide an opportunity for local communities to have their voices heard and acted on.

The Regional Assemblies began in 2016 and play a vital role in engaging with communities to identify priorities in their regions and to develop collaborative solutions to local problems.

In 2017, more than 2,000 people attended Regional Assemblies with this year’s assemblies being a chance for local residents, community organisations and businesses to hear what the Regional Partnerships have achieved to date, and to help shape the agenda for the year ahead.

More information about the Barwon Regional Assembly, including topics and how to register, will be available soon.
