Barwon Water launch new washing machine rebate program
BARWON Water have introduced their new WaterSmart Washing Machine Rebate program.
Applications are open now and are available for Barwon Water’s residential customers, aimed at helping them become more water efficient.
Barwon Water managing director Shaun Cumming said rebates of $250 were available for eligible customers to upgrade their old washing machines to a more energy efficient model.
“The rebates are available to residential customers who have purchased a minimum 4.5-Star WELS and 4-star energy rated front loading washing machine to upgrade their old machine.
Mr Cummings said Barwon Water were addressing the challenge of finding more water to cater for the growing population.
“Improved water efficiency has an important role to play in meeting this challenge, which is why we are looking to support our customers to improve water efficiency and preserve our precious resource.”
Mr Cummings said along with the rebates, a more efficient washing machine meant customers will also benefit from water and energy savings, lowering the cost of their bills.
The rebates will also contribute to achieving permanent water savings for the region.
Residential customers will need to meet an eligibility criteria, including having a property connected to mains drinking water and providing a proof of purchase for their new machine.
Washing machines will need to have been purchased on or after December 1 2023.
