Bellarine Camera Club focuses on coming exhibition
THE Bellarine Camera Club are pulling their members’ work into focus again this year with an exhibition next weekend.
After a break of a few years, due to the COVID pandemic, the club’s photos will be on show to the public, with selected prints available to purchase.
All club members are keen amateurs, and many are self-taught.
Some club members have had images accepted in international standard photographic salons.
The exhibition will comprise more than 20 displays of prints individually selected by the club members, and a rolling slideshow of the best images for 2024.
There will also be two talks: a humorous talk with lots of images about the unexpected things that happen on safari in Africa. With valuable hints and tips to make better wildlife images of animals and birds anywhere; and a talk about photography in the Arctic Circle in wintertime with lots of images, with hints and tips to get the best out of your gear in very cold conditions with an emphasis on the Northern Lights.
Local images plus selected other images will be on display.
The Bellarine Camera Club is a small club of 45 active members, male and female, young and old, and hold meetings twice a month (except December and January).
It holds monthly competitions on selected and open subjects that are judged by experienced external judges, as well as workshops and talks on all aspects of photography of interest to the members.
The exhibition will be held at at the Springdale Neighbourhood Centre, 17-21 High Street Drysdale on November 2 and November 3.
Bellarine MP Alison Marchant will conduct the official opening on November 2 at 2pm.
