Bellarine community encouraged to catch Regenerating Australia
THE BELLARINE COMMUNITY can attend the Bellarine Training and Community Hub in Ocean Grove to view environment and sustainability film ‘Regenerating Australia’ on August 18.
Presented by Ocean Grove Coastcare, the screening will provide like-minded people with the opportunity to hear each other’s passions and ideas about regeneration.
Regenerating Australia, which is directed by award winning director Damon Gameau (‘2040’ and ‘That Sugar Film’) details how our planet would and could look with the acceleration of renewable energy sources and sustainable farming practices by 2030.
Ocean Grove Coastcare president Margot Busch said the team was thrilled to be showcasing the film as part of their yearly winter film offering, saying ‘Regenerating Australia’ provides information that community members can take into their lives.
“The evening will be a great way to help people find ways that they can participate in their own way to mitigate climate change by living in a sustainable manner,” Busch said.
“The film has some great messaging about how we as a local community can preserve our environment so that by the time we are in 2030, we aren’t staring down the barrel of continued climate emergency.”
Busch said that on top of the film screening, the evening will also include special guest speakers from local organisations including Geelong Sustainability Group and Feed Me Bellarine to promote conversations about people making a lighter impact on the natural environment.
Attendance is free on the evening, with ticketing capped at 80 people.
Food and beverages will be supplied by Feed Me Bellarine.
