Bellarine community forum to highlight local issues

August 8, 2018 BY

LIBERAL Party representatives will host a community forum in Drysdale tonight (Thursday) to discuss issues concerning local residents.

Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson will be joined by Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs Alan Tudge, and state Liberal candidate for Bellarine Brian McKiterick for the forum at SpringDale Neighbourhood Centre.

Ms Henderson said the Bellarine community forum would discuss issues of concern including community safety, population growth and the State Labor Government’s failure to invest in  vital infrastructure such as improved passenger rail and arterial roads.

“My office has been inundated with calls and correspondence from concerned locals about the level of growth on the Bellarine,” Ms Henderson said.

“While immigration has underpinned much of our success as a nation, I share community concerns that growth is outpacing infrastructure investment by the state government, which is placing considerable pressure on our region.

“I invite all Bellarine residents to come along to this forum to discuss what can be done to rectify this problem.”

The Community Forum will be held at SpringDale Neighbourhood Centre, 17-21 High Street, Drysdale from 4pm to 5pm.
