May 22, 2019 BY

Students from eight dance schools from the Bellarine, Surf Coast, Geelong and Colac will showcase their dance skills at The Potato Shed on Saturday May 25.

THE Bellarine Dance Fest will return this year to give dance students from the Bellarine and wider community an opportunity to perform in a noncompetitive forum.

After a resounding success in May 2018, students from eight dance schools from the Bellarine, Surf Coast, Geelong and Colac will showcase their dance skills at The Potato Shed in Drysdale on Saturday May 25.

A total of 235 performers will participate over three sessions starting at 9.30am, 11am, and 1pm where audiences will be treated to a variety of performances ranging from classical ballet, contemporary dance, jazz and tap.

Coordinator of the Bellarine Dance Fest, Allegonda Deppe, has extended the festival to a two-day event.

On Sunday May 26, students will participate in two workshops.

Megan Connelly from the Australian Ballet Company and Robert Sturrock from Industry Dance Company, Melbourne, will provide students with a rare opportunity to further their experience and skills in their selected dance styles.

The organisers of the festival would like to thank the following sponsors for their generosity and support – Energetiks, Bloch, DanceSurance, Geelong Dance Wear and the Potato Shed.
