Bellarine locals have picked their community projects
FOUR important projects on the Bellarine have secured funding through Pick My Project.
Bellarine MP Lisa Neville announced on Tuesday that the projects would receive almost $700,000 worth of funding through the state government initiative that gave locals the power to choose the projects that their community needed.
The four projects on the Bellarine to receive funding are:
• Bellarine’s Nature Therapy – All Abilities Access Track in Ocean Grove ($144,690)
• Collendina Sports Ground Lighting Project in Ocean Grove ($200k)
• The Springs Dell Boardwalk in Clifton Springs ($200K)
• Outdoor Gym Equipment Stations in Pt Lonsdale ($149,040)
“Pick My Project will make a real difference in these three towns and communities across the state – giving locals the power to choose the projects their community needs,” Ms Neville said.
“I’m so pleased that these four important projects will get the funding and support they need thanks to this ground breaking initiative.”
Through the $30 million Pick My Project initiative, Victorian residents aged 16 and over were given the opportunity to submit their idea for a project or program that made their community a better place to live.
People were then given the chance to vote for their favourite project.
More than 95,000 Victorians cast votes, with successful projects receiving grants of between $20,000 and $200,000.
More than 230 projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria received funding.
