A PAIR of dedicated Rotarians have been recognised for decades of community service at one of the Bellarine’s Rotary Clubs.

The Bellarine North Rotary Club announced last month Sue and Bruce Van Every had received the prestigious Rotary International Avenues of Service Award.

Bellarine North Rotary Club head of publicity Maree Galea said the honour was only given to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional activities and commitment to the region across all five of its avenues of service: club, vocational, community, international, and youth service.

“Sue and Bruce’s dedication to taking action and creating meaningful change truly represents the best of Rotary,” Ms Galea said.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to them for their unwavering commitment to Rotary’s ideals and congratulate them on receiving this distinguished honour.” Sue previously served as a club president in 2016, and has been instrumental in previous projects over the year in activities such as Barwon Elder Abuse Primary Prevention Network Forum, sorting books for Rotary book fairs and assisting in community fundraisers.

Bruce, also appointed president in 2019, has also been a key member of the club.
