Three Bellarine Schools will share in a state government budget boost of $1.4 million to upgrade their facilities.

Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville announced the Victorian Budget 2018/19 funding for Surfside, Moolap and Wallington Primary schools on Monday.

Surfside Primary School will receive $1.3 million, Moolap Primary School $600,000 and Wallington Primary School $400,000.

Ms Neville said the funding for these schools would be used to upgrade facilities, including refurbishing and modernising classrooms and facilities in poor condition.

She said these works would target facilities that needed it most, ensuring that students learnt in an environment designed for delivering modern education.

“The first step will be a ‘bricks and mortar’ training course for school staff, which will help them identify where best to direct funds to support the school’s educational direction,” she said.

This boost to regional school funding will upgrade classrooms and school facilities across Victoria, giving more teachers in regional communities the support they need to deliver the 21st century education kids deserve.
