YEAR 12 students are celebrating across the Bellarine after officially finishing their VCE studies and receiving results that will set them on their path into the future.

On Monday, VCE students on the Bellarine received their ATAR scores after six years of hard work and dedication.

The school said Hines demonstrated incredible commitment to his studies and was able to score a perfect 50 in Physical Education.

Saint Ignatius Principal Michael Exton said he was remarkably proud of the students’ efforts during 2022, particularly with it being the first year permanently back in the classroom since 2019.

“Saint Ignatius College congratulates all of our Year 12 students on their achievements,” Exton said.

“Due to the pandemic, the last three years of their secondary school journey have been like no other, so well done to them all for navigating such uncertain and challenging times.

“They have demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and perseverance.

“Furthermore, the holistic education our College provides, together with the dedication and expertise of our staff and the love and support of their families, have shaped our students into fine young women and men, better preparing them for their futures.”

Four of Saint Ignatius College College Captains, Emily Green, Sam Hines, Toby Mews and Audrey Hughan all achieved ATAR scores over 90, a feat the College is proud of.

Bellarine Secondary College also released their high achievers, with Dylan Connell deemed the College Dux for 2022 with a score of 98.

Nine other students also scored over 90, while 45 per cent of Bellarine Secondary College students scored an ATAR greater than 70.

“These are excellent outcomes, which quite rightly we should celebrate,” Bellarine Secondary College Principal Wayne Johannesen said.

“There are numerous other success stories where students have achieved beyond what they hoped as a result of their hard work and application.

“On behalf of the College community, I congratulate all of the students in the Class of 2022 for your fabulous achievements this year, regardless of pathway VCE or VCAL.

“We are very proud of each of you and look forward to the next exciting steps in your lives.”
