TWO Bellarine schools have received a welcome funding boost to upgrade their facilities.

Drysdale Primary School will receive almost $300,000 to build an inclusive playground, which will give students of all abilities more opportunities to play and learn together.

Meanwhile, Bellarine Secondary College will receive almost $500,000 to refurbish the school’s student toilets.

Bellarine MP Alison Marchant congratulated both schools.

“This is a great opportunity for schools across the Bellarine to update their facilities to ensure every student is learning in the very best environment,” Ms Marchant said.

Drysdale Primary School and Bellarine Secondary College are among 58 schools across the state to receive funding for a range of small-scale refurbishments, such as bathroom repairs, in the latest round of the Victorian government’s Capital Works Fund.

Education Minister Ben Carroll said every student deserves world-class facilities at their school.

“We will continue to invest in renovating school facilities, making sure we meet the needs of every child,” he said.

“Every family wants the best for their kids – the best education in state-of-the-art facilities.

“Our record investment in school infrastructure is delivering for our hard-working school communities in the education state.”

The Victorian School Building Authority will work with both schools in the coming months to deliver the projects, with all construction expected to be completed by mid-2026.
