THE community is invited to step out in style to support those less fortunate across the region, with Feed Me to host a fundraising event next month.
Under The Bay Lights is an elegant black-tie charity dinner set against the backdrop of 360Q at Queenscliff Harbour.
Guests will be welcomed on the deck as dusk settles over the bay, followed by a refined three-course dining experience, live music, and an exclusive silent auction. “Under The Bay Lights is more than a beautiful evening – it directly funds the practical, everyday work that keeps Feed Me running for our community,” Feed Me stated.
Feed Me Bellarine is a local, volunteer-powered food relief organisation providing emergency food support, fresh produce, pantry staples and ready-made meals to individuals and families across the Bellarine, Geelong and Surf Coast.
It supports more than 1,500 families each week through deliveries and a further 300 people a day through its community food markets.
“What began as rescuing surplus food has become something much bigger, a place where people feel safe, supported and cared for during some of the hardest moments in their lives,” Feed Me stated.
“With the rising cost of living, demand for our service has grown rapidly over the past two years. More working families, elderly residents, single parents and young people are now relying on Feed Me to help make ends meet.”
Funds raised from this event will go towards:
Purchasing essential food items when donations run low
Fuel and running costs for meal delivery vans
Packaging, storage and refrigeration needed to safely distribute food
Supporting volunteer kitchen to prepare thousands of meals each week, and
Keeping Feed Me’s markets stocked with fresh fruit, vegetables and items for families in need.
“Every ticket purchased helps put real food into real hands, right here in our local community,” the organisation stated.
Under The Bay Lights will take place at 360Q on March 21 from 5.30pm to 10.30pm.
