Book characters come to life during week of fun
LEOPOLD Primary School pupils transformed into their favourite book characters for a big parade last week.
The parade was the finale of Book Week 2019, which ran from Monday August 19 to Friday August 23, and involved lots of events, visitors and activities.
During the week the students held an Indigenous Book Swap which raised $800 that will go towards buying books and reading resources for remote Indigenous communities.
Visiting authors Ian Trevaskis and Dale Baker also spoke to students about how to generate ideas and create books.
“Reading is my Super Power” was the theme of the Book Week parade on Friday, with gold coin donations going to the charity of the students’ choice.
