Borough seeks input for tourist park masterplan
THE Borough of Queenscliffe is requesting input from residents and visitors as it gets ready to review the operations of its tourist parks.
The council is now completing a review of the parks’ operation and management, after the adoption of a new parks design masterplan.
Mayor Ross Ebbels noted that the parks allow for affordable accommodation for visitors, generate income that helps keep rates lowered and attract new customers to support Queenscliff businesses.
Cr Ebbels also said the tourist parks were an important asset for the borough.
“This review will help us make sure the parks can keep providing benefits to the borough for generations. I’d encourage anyone with ideas to share them as part of this consultation,” Cr Ebbels said.
To take part in the borough’s consultation, residents and visitors can do so by completing their survey on the council’s website at queenscliffe.vic.gov.au/tourist-park-consultation.
Consultation closes at 11.59pm on Sunday, August 15.
Dedicated workshop sessions will also take place with stakeholder groups, including 12-month permit holders and local traders.
Various questions will be asked of the consultation’s participants such as, how they currently use council’s tourist parks, what they like best about them, and what they think could be improved about the way the parks are operated and managed.
To find out more about the review and to view the project’s timeline and background, information is readily available on the council’s website or by contacting the borough’s customer service.
