OCEAN Grove Bowling Club’s major redevelopment has reached an important milestone ahead of its September grand opening, with the roof canopy now officially completed.
The renovations, which started in October, has progressed smoothly in what will be one of Victoria’s premier undercover bowls and entertainment facilities.
It includes a new 16-rink undercover facility, with the completion of the roof canopy meaning installation of the two new synthetic greens can begin on Monday, July 21.
Ocean Grove Bowling Club chief executive officer Nathan O’Neill expressed his excitement for the redevelopment on Thursday last week.

“We are incredibly proud of the progress made and the excellence shown by our project partners,”he said.
“The redevelopment will elevate Ocean Grove Bowling Club to new heights, not just as a sporting venue, but as a place of connection and celebration.”
Other key architectural elements of the redevelopment include glazed panels and louvres and two 4.5-metre digital screens, as well as handrail and balustrades to improve accessibility and safety.
“These milestones mark a significant turning point in the project as we move towards the completion of a redevelopment that will stand as a true centrepiece for the Bellarine region,” Mr O’Neill said.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from our members and the wider Ocean Grove Community throughout this transformative journey.
“The patience and encouragement shown over the past twelve months has helped us to bring this vision to life.”
To launch the redevelopment, the club is planning a Grand Opening Event Series from September 11 to September 14, with several activities and entertainment options for all ages available.
