AUSTRALIAN music body APRA AMCOS will stop by Geelong’s iconic Beav’s Bar on October 31 for the next instalment of the Meet the Locals series.

Presented in conjunction with the City of Greater Geelong and Music Victoria, the free event is open to all APRA AMCOS members, as well as aspiring songwriters who want to find out how they can join the program.

The first part of the evening will give budding musicians the chance to discuss how to release music – including finding the right platform to share and how to pitch your work – while the second part will comprise of small group sessions with industry representatives from Music Victoria, The Push, public relations agencies and venue operators.

Cr Jim Mason, who chairs the city’s arts, culture and heritage portfolio, said the event was not to be missed by those with a passion for music.

“We have many talented performers in Greater Geelong with different musical styles and at different stages in their career.”

“I’m sure many would benefit from asking questions and learning useful tips from industry professionals about how to get their music to the next level.”
