May 29, 2022 BY

Nominations for the 2023 Telstra Best of Business Awards are now open to all small and medium-sized businesses with under 200 employees.

The awards program features seven award categories which are celebrated at a state and national level, in addition to an overall national winner.

The seven categories include:

  • Accelerating Women
  • Building Communities
  • Championing Health
  • Embracing Innovation
  • Indigenous Excellence
  • Outstanding Growth, and
  • Promoting Sustainability.

The inaugural Telstra Best of Business Awards were held earlier this year and attracted 24,000 nominations.

One of the national winners, Nina Nguyen – founder and CEO of packaging company Pakko – said the awards entry process had been hugely beneficial for her and her business.

“It really allows you to take a step back and put a microscope to what you’re doing, and ultimately helps you better understand your business,” she said.

“It’s opened new doors for us and helped create a platform for us to continue growing.”

Telstra’s Michael Ackland said the awards celebrate individuals and teams who are challenging the status quo for the betterment of the community.

“Small businesses truly are the engine room of our economy. They are unrelenting in their efforts and ambition to create positive outcomes for the communities they serve and in driving Australia forward,” Mr Ackland said.

“It’s never been more important to stop and recognise small businesses, and the people behind them, for their unrivalled commitment to innovation and resilience.”
