THE Geelong region’s finest photographers will have their work showcased in the 2022 City of Greater Geelong calendar.

Next year’s calendar features 13 winning images from the city’s annual photography contest, which attracted more than 1300 entries and 2221 public votes.

Tash Dear snapped the winning entry of Geelong Carousel to claim the calendar cover, edging out her mum Danka, whose Floating Christmas Tree shot will feature for December.

Geelong mayor Stephanie Asher said the competition highlighted the beauty and diversity of the region.

“We’ve been through a tough year so it’s heartening that so many talented people in our community captured images showing what they love about our region,” Cr Asher said.

“They represent the resilience we have all demonstrated as we’ve grasped the moments of light and joy amongst so much sacrifice.”

Calendars will arrive at 128,000 Geelong letterboxes this month, with additional copies to become available in January.
