Carr-Gregg to present seminars for school parents in Geelong

HIGH-PROFILE Victorian psychologist and Read the Play patron Dr Michael Carr-Gregg is set to deliver two important education sessions for parents of children starting Year 7 and Year 12 in Geelong this March.

The ‘Starting Secondary School’ and ‘Surviving Year 12’ sessions on Thursday, March 9 and Thursday, March 16 at GMHBA Stadium will see Carr-Gregg present parents with the tools to help their child navigate the two tricky years of schooling, providing them with unique advice and guidance to help their son/daughter thrive.

Read the Play chair Sarah Albon said the organisation were over the moon to have “one of the most impressive speakers of the modern era” facilitating the sessions and providing his insights into attacking the schooling periods with success.

“From a personal perspective I’ve heard Michael speak a few times and as a parent I always walk away with some really handy tools that are ready to go to support my children and their friends,” she said.

“Michael is so passionate about young people, and we are thrilled to have him on board as a patron and someone who continues to give his all to support our evidence-based programs.

“The two transition periods that he will speak about are very protective times in a young person’s life and having parents being informed on this is vital.”

Tickets are on sale for $15 and will help to support the work of Read the Play, a mental health literacy program that is designed for the junior levels of sporting clubs.
