SEA all Dolphin Swims is bringing a new event to the Queenscliff Harbour later this month.

Borough By the Bay — Marine and Coastal Celebration will start the highly anticipated dolphin watching season on September 29 with an action-packed day.

In partnership with the Borough of Queenscliffe, the festival aims to boost tourism, foster community pride and raise awareness of environmental conservation.

Sea all Dolphin Swims director James Murphy said the borough has an incredible biodiverse marine environment, with amazing marine assets, wildlife and operators doing their best to celebrate this.

“What we’re looking to do is showcase what the borough has as a whole to the world.

“We want everybody to really understand that Queenscliff is just an incredible place.

“It’s got these amazing experiences and we’re hoping everybody that connects with us will have a greater appreciation for what we do as a whole and foster a greater sense for helping to conserve it.”

The inaugural festival will feature a range of free and paid activities with something for everyone.

A plethora of activities will run across the day from face painting and a jumping castle through to a virtual reality marine experience, plastic recycling workshop and more.

Activities will be on offer for everyone throughout the festival

Discounted paid tours will also run, including the Mermaid and Wildlife Sightseeing tour, which will see trained experts take to the water as mermaids and connect with the audience.

Sea all Dolphin Swims received an event sponsorship from the Borough of Queenscliffe to help with event funding.

“Whether you’re interested in engaging workshops, educational talks, or simply enjoying the scenic views and maritime history, the Borough by the Bay festival offers a comprehensive experience for all,” Mr Murphy said.

Borough of Queenscliffe mayor Ross Ebbels said the borough was delighted with the applicants for the sponsorship round and are proud to support Sea All Dolphin Swims’ event.

“This event is uniquely ‘Queenscliff’ and will no doubt attract locals and visitors alike to come along and learn more about our rich marine and coastal heritage.

“I commend the Sea All Dolphin Swims team for pulling together such a wonderful event and wish them all the best.”

It’s hoped the festival will continue to grow over the coming years to include more of the borough and boost visitation.

The festival will run from 8:30am until 5pm.
