THERE has been a buzz of activity at W.G. Little Reserve in Portarlington recently with a chainsaw sculptor onsite creating an extraordinary work of art.
Bellarine Bayside has commissioned Rob Bast, one of Australia’s top chainsaw carvers, to work his magic and create a one of a kind coastal themed carving for the northern Bellarine. It is hard to believe that what began as mere tree stumps and ideas have taken only a matter of days to transform into magnificent carvings of octopus and dolphins.
“I watched Rob for a little while and the skill involved is just incredible,” Bellarine Bayside Chief Executive Officer John Nankervis said.
“We are so pleased that the opportunity was identified to create a unique public art project for the community to enjoy.”
