Change for health board
HEALTH industry finance executive Ian Broadway is the newest face on the Barwon Health board after earning appointment from the state government.
Mr Broadway brings decades of experience from leadership roles across Victoria’s health sector and public service.
He is currently Chief Financial Officer at Melbourne’s St Vincent’s Hospital.
Earlier roles include a long stint as CFO at Austin Health and the same position for organisations, including the Victorian Workcover Authority, Melbourne Health, North Western Health and Western Healthcare Network.
Mr Broadway has replaced outgoing deputy board director Mike Feehan, who retired at the end of June.
Brian Cook will continue as board chair, while Stephen Elder will also continue in his board position.
Mr Cook thanked Mr Feehan for his contribution to the board over six years, which included positions as chair of the finance committee and on the audit and risk board, governance and renumeration committee, and Barwon Health Foundation board.
“Mike brought a wealth of knowledge, community connectedness and due diligence to his role on the Board and various other committees. On behalf of Barwon Health, I would like to thank Mike for his commitment and contribution,” Mr Cook said.
“There is considerable growth and opportunity on the horizon for Barwon Health and we welcome the expertise that Ian brings to the board.”
“Working closely with the executive, the board has a broad mix of skills, knowledge and experience to continue to position Barwon Health as a leading healthcare provider.”
