Police seek assistance after child dies in Ocean Grove collision

VICTORIA Police are urgently seeking eyewitnesses to a collision that killed a four-year-old child in Ocean Grove yesterday (Friday, April 11).

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the collision, which took place in Presidents Avenue.

Emergency services were called to reports a car had lost control and collided with a child on the footpath about 4.50pm.

The four-year-old child died at the scene.

The driver, a 71-year-old Ocean Grove woman, has been arrested and will be interviewed.

Police said the exact circumstances surrounding the collision were yet to be determined and investigations remained ongoing.
