Chorus set to ‘Sing into Spring’ at the shed

October 3, 2018 BY

The Geelong Harmony Chorus will perform at the Potato Shed on October 14.

PROUD once again to be part of this year’s Senior Festival, Geelong Harmony Chorus will present an afternoon of fun and musical dexterity next weekend.

Geelong’s ever-popular women’s chorus will ‘Sing into Spring!’ at Drysdale’s Potato Shed on October 14 at 2pm.

“Geelong Harmony Chorus sings a cappella harmonies in the barbershop style, which is like the music in the Pitch Perfect movies,” said Alex Morris, Geelong Harmony’s musical director since 2012.

“Our concerts are so much fun… we take our music very seriously, which is why we have been winning medals at our national contests, but we love what we do and it really shows.”

On stage will be the women of Geelong Harmony Chorus, and guest performers will be Around The Blend, a mixed quartet who recently competed in Adelaide in the Barbershop Harmony Australia national competition, and Cadence, a women’s quartet who competed in Hobart in the Sweet Adelines national contest.

Joining them will be The Violas, a local duet featuring two talented sisters, Jess and Aleesha Viola. Ticket prices are: seniors $15, adults $22, concession $18, child $12.

Included in the ticket price is a delicious afternoon tea with tea and coffee, and drinks are available at bar prices.

Tickets to the show can be purchased online at geelongaustralia.com.au/potatoshed or by phoning The Potato Shed on 5251 1998.

Meanwhile, Geelong Harmony is presently recruiting new singers to join as they begin preparing for next year’s national championships to be held in Hobart in May.
